Release. Exhilaration. Relief.
Xavier Gaunt’s bloodlust subsided as he looked into the rear-view mirror, witnessing the flailing corpse escaping from beneath his car tyres. He voiced an animal cry as the taillights illuminated the bloodied and mangled cadaver rolling across the blacktop, coming to rest in the centre of the road. His car screeched away from the scene, disappeared around a sharp corner with a shrill whine of tyres kissing tarmac, leaving in its wake a horrifying aftermath.
